Paddle As Transformation – Art Is Medicine Workshop
In this Art Is Medicine workshop, we meditate on the teachings of the paddle and its power to carry us anywhere in the world. Inspired by Raven’s story and Hebas Paddle, we will reflect on the gifts we hold, and how we might share them.
Through imagination and creation, we’ll ask: If you had magical powers, where would your paddle take you? Participants will design and paint their own paddle — transforming wood with abalone inlay and their own visions. Your paddle can become earrings, a keychain, a necklace, or a bookmark to carry with you.
This workshop is open to Native and non-Native participants alike. Come ready to ground, imagine, and create together.
